ORG Establishment

At its last general assembly meeting during the 2024 annual conference, IAMCR approved the establishment of the Organizational Communication (ORG) Working Group.

Dedicated to scholarship on communication within and across all types of organisational (commercial, governmental, civil society, political parties, etc.) borders, this working group will focus on research that explores the under-listed (not exhaustive) areas and interconnections between them:

  • Public relations/international PR
  • Crisis communication
  • Brand communication
  • Strategic communication
  • Integrated communication
  • Corporate communication
  • Digital/social media brand communication
  • Stakeholder relations
  • Corporate social responsibility

  • Influencer marketing communication
  • Children and organisational communication
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion communication
  • Knowledge management and organisations

The leadership team responsible for launching the working group includes Abena Animwaa Yeboah-Banin (University of Ghana) as Chair, Mokhtar Elareshi (University of Sharjah) and Gisela Gonçalves (University of Beira Interior, LabCom) as Vice-chairs.

The Organisational Communication Working Group will organise its first sessions at the Singapore 2025 conference.
