EXTENDED DEADLINE: 15 FEBRUARY 2008!
The Journalism Research and Education section invites submissions for its program for the IAMCR conference at the University of Stockholm, 20-25 July, 2008.
All papers, from the full range of perspectives on journalism research and professional education will be considered. However, particularly welcome are those papers which take up the conference theme of "Media and Global Divides".
Given that this will be the first time the section meets as the Journalism Research and Education section and that, due to place and time constraints, no business meeting was held at the Paris conference, we refrain from suggesting particular themes.
However, we would like you to think not only about divides, but also collaborations and examples of collaborations in the area of journalism research and education. In the area of professional education we are as interested as ever in the themes of theory and practice; journalism ethics; changes to journalism due to digital technology and blogging.
Abstracts of 500 words, followed by the title, name, institutional address and email address of the author or authors (no biographical notes or references) should be emailed to the section head by 15 February, 2008.
An indication of intention of submission and attendance would be very much appreciated. Also, it has to be pointed out that the same paper can be submitted to and presented in one section only. Acceptances or rejections of abstracts will be mailed out by 31 March, 2008.
