Mandla J. Radebe is an Associate Professor in the Department of Strategic Communication and currently holds the position of Director at the Centre for Data and Digital Communications at the University of Johannesburg. With a professional career spanning over two decades, his extensive experience encompasses various industries, including Accounting and Auditing, Financial Services, Information and Communication Technology, Higher Education, Retail, and the Public Sector. His academic qualifications include a PhD in Media Studies, an MA in Journalism & Media Studies, and a BA Honours in Journalism & Media Studies, all from Wits University. Additionally, he holds a BSc. in Computer & Information Technology from Vista University's Soweto campus. Mandla has made significant contributions to academic literature, having published extensively in refereed accredited and unaccredited journals, authored book chapters, and contributed to various media outlets. He is an award-winning author of “The Lost Prince of the ANC: The Life and Times of Jabulani Nobleman ‘Mzala’ Nxumalo 1955-1991” (published by Jacana Media, 2022) and “Constructing Hegemony: The South African Commercial Media and the (Mis)Representation of Nationalisation” (a work published by UKZN Press, 2020).
