Statement
I am a lifetime member of IAMCR and based at United States International University-Africa, in Nairobi Kenya where I am an assistant professor of media and communications. I have been involved with IAMCR for a long time, my first conference was in 2012.
In 2021 my university had the privilege of hosting the annual conference (online) and I served as the chair of the Local Organizing Committee. I interacted with the IC then and had a sense of what they do which sparked my interest in being involved. Having assembled a team from across Africa to serve on the LOC during the 2021 conference, I have maintained those ties with them and believe that my involvement in the IC will help grow membership in my region.

Endorse of Professor Dorothy Njoroge
I wholeheartedly endorse Dorothy Njoroge for the IAMCR council. She is a much-needed voice on Africa, with her impactful work on digital activism. Her critiques of Western-centric perspectives are both timely and relevant. As a dedicated member of IAMCR, she has consistently shown her commitment to the association, including when she helped organise the 2021 conference. Having Dorothy's voice on IAMCR's International Council is vital for ensuring diverse representation and perspectives within the organization.
Endorsement Dorothy Njoroge
I worked with Dorothy for our 2021 conference in Kenya/online, in difficult circumstances. I particularly appreciate her patience and resilience in leading her team through these difficult waters; these skills are very welcome (even needed) in the IAMCR IC, so I’m happy to endorse her candidacy for the IC.
As a scholar, Dorothy Njoroge's work on feminist digital activism in Africa has deeply inspired me. Her critiques of the Western-centric legacies of feminist movements and their implications for women's movements in the Global South are insightful. As a member of IAMCR, she has been active and committed to the association. It is vital to have Dorothy's voice in IAMCR's International Council.
