The Journalism Research & Education Section invites submissions for its open sessions at the IAMCR that will be held Kadir Has University will host the 2011 IAMCR Conference in Istanbul, Turkey, July 13-17 2011. The theme for the 2011 conference will be 'Cities, Connectivity and Creativity'.
The current historical moments of contingency offer the opportunity to reform journalism institutions, curricula and education that complies with this year’s IAMCR theme a golden chance to be prepared and resilient in order to rebuild, and improve the journalism research and education. It is thus crucial to think more creatively about the volatile future, by finding new motives and opportunities to produce really creative change in the field of journalism research and education.
The Journalism Research & Education Section invites papers within the general theme of 'Cities, Connectivity and Creativity' with the aim to think creatively and holistically about solving problems of journalism that can transcend borders and offer different views of creativity, vitality and competitively within urban contexts to provide the appropriate structural conditions necessary for the development of journalism research and education.
The Journalism Research & Education Section also accepts research and panel proposals that cover the five main themes below:
- International Collaborative Research in Journalism Research: New Challenges and Emergent Perspectives.
- Innovations in Journalism.
- The Professional Journalism.
- Methods for Quantifying Professional Journalism
- Generic Studies of Journalism:

Authors interested in the Journalism Research & Education Section on-line publication will be requested to send their full papers after final modifications no later than September 2011. The review process includes a blind referee process of six members (steering committee) will review the research papers to optimize the quality of research in the best objective and professional level.
